Principal of the Year ProgramSponsored by the Association of Wisconsin School Administrators (AWSA) and the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, and the WFEA Corporate Support Program, the principal of the year program annually recognizes principals who exemplify outstanding leadership and commitment to the education of children in Wisconsin. Fellow administrators, school districts, PTAs, teacher associations, school boards, student organizations, and other interested groups may nominate principals and educational services administrators for recognition in each of four categories: elementary schools; middle level schools; high schools; educational services [administrators other than principals, associate principals or similar building level administrators who typically provide support to all district staff, students, parents, and programs]. Fellow administrators, school districts, PTAs, teacher associations, school boards, student organizations, and other interested groups may nominate associate principals for recognition. The nomination form should be completed and signed by the nominator and mailed or faxed to AWSA by September 22, 2008. Self nominations are acceptable. Once nominations have been received, AWSA will send nominees the Official AP of the Year Application Packet sponsored by the NASSP. Completed Official AP of the Year Application Packets must be received by AWSA by November 3, 2008. Applications will be reviewed by the Associate Principal of the Year Selection Committee.
